Staffing Issues in 2022

Staffing Shortages in the labor force have been stifling in 2022. As of March 2021, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released data indicating a staggering all-time high of 8.1 million job openings, with a job opening rate of 5.3%.

Fast forward 18 months from when the above data was released, and the job market is still in turmoil. Some of the most heavily impacted industries are transportation, manufacturing, construction, and the service Industry.

These specific industry job shortages, and half of the businesses in these specific vertical markets, had the largest portion of employers with “major” staffing shortages (50% or below). This labor shortage resulted in half of this type of business reporting a significant potential loss of sales opportunities due to labor shortages.

As an organization combatting the above staffing hurdles, Function 4 has made drastic improvements to our hiring procedure. Our Human Resource Department has added key personnel since the shortage woes began. F4 has doubled down on human capital for the objective of keeping fully staffed to better serve our clients and the organizations we support.

People taking care of people is part of a core value we display at Function 4. Understanding F4 takes care of both our customers and staff is a goal we strive to achieve! Our team is proud to work in such a company culture, maybe you should consider working on our team as well!
